FAQ: Au Pair Activities

June 17, 2010

Part of being a Local Coordinator for goAUPAIR is providing activities for the au pairs in the group.  These activities are important for the au pairs, as it gives them a chance to meet other au pairs in the local area, exchange contact information, build friendships, talk with their local coordinator and ask questions, practice English speaking skills, as well as participate in activities and experiences that may be new to them.

The Department of State Rules state that Local Coordinators keep in touch with au pairs on a monthly basis, and activities is one way in which Local Coordinators can accomplish this.   Activities that our group has enjoyed in the past have been Picnics at local parks, Trips to the Detroit Zoo, Attending a Detroit Tigers game, Bowling, Ice Skating in the winter months, visiting the Detroit Institute of Arts, and the favorite – going to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.

Go Aupair encourages Au Pairs to attend a minimum of 4 activities during their year.

Check out the video below of our Bowling Activity from April of this year.
